Infinite View at Infinity

Infinite View at Infinity

Since we liked the view from 1/3rd the way up the mountain, we decided to go higher. We are staying at a place called Infinity, condos with hotel service. It has two bedrooms on the lower floor where there is a small patio and plunge pool and on the upper floor, a living-kitchen-dining room open space with a patio with a table and chairs.

The place is a bit dated and there are definitely some bugs up in the hills. Paul had to kill a defenseless cockroach beetle type thing for me this morning. It was in the shower and I needed that space. We have a friendly gecko hiding out on the top floor. I keep wanting him to get nice and fat by eating all the bugs. Paul does not understand why I hate bugs, but am totally fine with a reptile running around and pooping. These things are a mystery. Oh! There goes our gecko in hiding making his clicking noise, letting us know he is still here.

Last night, we had an amazing storm. It was mostly lightning, a little thunder and some rain. I was amazed at the white hue of the lightening. We decided to turn off all the lights and computers to watch the storm. It was foggy and the sky was cloudy, so we mostly saw flashes of white like pictures being taken with a giant God-sized camera. In the 15 or so minutes we sat in the dark, we saw dozens and dozens of flashes of white, but only heard two loud cracks of thunder and started raining. The rain reminded me of home and put a smile on my face and warmth in my heart. With that pleasant thought, we grabbed our safety flashlight and headed to bed listening to the rain (btw rain is the sound I have programmed for my white noise).

Today, the clouds and storm make the temperature much cooler which is welcome, especially to us Washingtonians who know how to live in clouds. It was, dare I say, comfortable. Until, a mosquito got me. Grrr… It is my first bite. We have been so fortunate on this part of the island to not need bug repellant unless you want to be out at dawn or dusk. Unfortunately, it was dusk when we walked back from our free Thai massages. Mosquitos must stand for my enemy. Well, all in all, a good stay here at Infinity.

Over time, you will get used to the heat. Notice that I did not predict that you will ever actually come to love it. Funny how the northwest drizzle gets into one’s veins.

BTW, I love the condo with plunge pool!
