Be the sidewalk.

In our travels so far, we have had several sessions of Thai massage.

At our first stop, Code on Samui, we had a couple of pleasant Thai massages. I have a low poking-as-pain threshold, so even these lighter treatments were a challenge.

At our next stop, Infinity, also on Samui, part of their post-coup, martial-law?-more-like-martial-suggestion package included unlimited Thai massages. I did four massages there. They varied in intensity and quality, and each contributed to my tolerance for serious massage.

Following a massage-free week in Singapore, today Paula and I visited a local Bangkok parlor (sounds so tawdry!) and had their 1-hour treatments, for about 10 bucks each.

Mine was the most serious massage I have ever experience, by a stretch (see what I did there?). Such pressure! Such stretching! And, for about 15 minutes near the end, the famous walking on the back by the therapist. Feel all the weight!

I felt beat up when I left, but I feel better now, and I am ready to go back for a rematch tomorrow afternoon, after we visit some temples, as good tourists should.
